Hello. I am record producer/engineer/mixer based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Philosophy:
Recording music is an art: everybody has their own unique style. I pride myself in being versatile enough to work efficiently with all types of music: mainstream/not-so-mianstream, modern/not-so-modern, etc. I especially like taking my favorite facets of each style and applying it to something new. If everybody followed a formula, music wouldn't be that interesting now, would it?
Approach:
I can be as hands on or hands off as you like... whether you want somebody who can produce and shape your music, or somebody who can just get it sounding good to tape. I enjoy both of these roles and I am sure that I have something to offer in either realm.
Medium (Digital vs. Analog):
Whatever fits the soul (and the wallet)... I have plenty of experience in both.
Person?:
I love playing drums and making strange noises with strange devices. I am an avid cyclist and love riding in the rain. I have a terrible coffee habit. I enjoy taking pictures on flim then going through the tedious process of scanning them into the computer. I'm also more of a dog person.
Where:
I currently work out of Barefoot Recording in Hollywood, CA. I'm also available to record at select recording studios in the SF, LA, and NYC area. Not a fan of recording in a fishtank? I also do quite a bit of 'on-location' recording. Feel more comfortable recording in your living room? In a rustic old barn? In another studio? I'm game - and have the portable equipment to make a professional sounding recording anywhere.
Rates:
There are too many variables that factor into a rate that make it hard to put a single number up here. If that means recording in your basement or in a professional studio, I am willing to work within any budget.
